Product focused
For this outdoor lifestyle product photoshoot, it was decided very early on that the focus of the photos were to be the product itself. Casting calls were put out for models that had nice pair of hands. No distracting tattoos, non-painted short and clean fingernails too.
The whole casting process took about a week and mostly done online and not in person for a quick and easy process
Location scouting and outfits
We then planned and decided for the look and overall feel of said photos that would not look out of place within the online store.
Once we’ve figured that out, its now down to wardrobe choices. I suggested for something flowy and single blocky colors to contrast well with the product and to also not distract the viewer.
3 locations, 3 talents and few multiple outfits later
This outdoor lifestyle product photoshoot itself went on without a hitch, with the knowledge of having the need to move round from multiple spots in a single location. I decided it was best to shoot with ambient lighting.
My plan was to use the location as a secondary focus. Just enough attention to provide context on where the location is but not enough to pull your attention away from the product.
