This blog entry is outdated.. sorta
I kept these ironman toy photography set, with the intention of creating a blog entry way back in 2017.
Things got busy and i never got round to it till now. Cut to 2021, i see a barrage of blogposts and youtube videos on the same topic so i will keep this short and just highlight the way i did it in 2017 with the gear that i had at my disposal
One of the key differences from the action figures i photograph and the ones others use, are that mine are pre-production models. These are usually about 80% to 90% final and these has been handled so many times by different departments that the joints are very loose by this point.
Nudged in the direction
I went through many methods before a colleague mentioned that its just simpler to stick a malleable piece of wire to stick it up their butt. He said it jokingly but it also made a lot of sense.
So i took his idea, and added some ideas of my own. I used a retort stand to get more height or distance as needed. I needed the extra variable cos the action figures come in multiple sizes and i needed a way to accommodate for that.
